For about a year I've been using the Militec Metal Conditionner (fancy name for a lubricant) with great results on modern firearms such as Glocks, ARs, Newer 1911s, etc. However, I was wondering if this would be equally good on older firearms (vintage 1911s, Lugers, C96s, older rifles) for performance, and I was also wondering if that might hurt the metal and/or finish of the firearm.

Anyone?

Been using militec for a long time now. On 1911 it workd just fine. If however you are using a brazilian hard slide on a standard 1911 frame, the metals are not the same hardness. Colt frame is 40 on Rockwell scale, brazillian can be as hard as 70, and as hard as glass to cut to mount new sights on

according to the literature ,it's supposed to bond to the metal pores, and since all metal is porus on a microscopic level, it;s got to be a good thing
