Just because you asked I took mine out in the yard as we are having a sunny day today. I could see the illumination just fine. The only time I couldn't see the illumination was when i look to the sky and the reticle is completely silhouetted against the bright sky. Which is okay be me as I won't be sending rounds up into the atmosphere anyways
