I am new to IPSC rifle and have this scope mounted on my rifle. My question is: how bright is the recticle supposed to be? With 11 brightness settings I assumed it would be bright in the daylight. I am a little embarrassed to ask this question, as I had expectations of brightness comparable to a traditional red dot sight. Thanks for the input!

if you turn it to max it should be plenty bright. but its not a red dot sight.. its a scope with an illuminated reticle for low light shooting.

Ive used them on a couple of guns with great success

This type of scope is not really going to need red dohnut in the day. It's designed for night firing. I have one and love it. But the illum is really only for show if you don't use it at night.

Other than the unexpected misconception of having the red dot brightness how do you like the optic?
