Millett scopes

I talked to someone at Opticsplanet and he said to the origin of maker was not listed which on their system would mean it was made in the US. If it was made in China it would have been listed. He believes it is US made.

This is one of the scopes I am looking at also. Just by coincidence the salesman brought up the point that it was made in China, I am not 100% sure he is right though.

These scopes can't ship out of the US direct to you because of ITAR.

We do have a few Millett scopes in stock with lots more on order.

I have that scope, just got it a week ago from Frontier Firearms, a site sponsor.

The box says it is made in China but Millet is affiliated with Bushnell some how. Not sure how connected they are but I would not hold the place of origin against any product.

Personally have been very happy with my Millet DMS but I have only been out to the range once so far.

As Farmboy said

Be careful with eBay, technically the seller would need export paperwork if they are selling from a US location. I have heard of many people who get scopes from USA on eBay and while you are not breaking any Canadian laws but the seller is breaking USA export rules and could get in a whole heap of trouble. If the seller is in a country other than US then jump on it, a Millet DMS for under $200 is a great deal.

It's a $200 scope.

It's not horrible... 'Worth the $200, but.....

It's a $200 scope.

I have one on an AR... It works.
'Would it be nice if the glass was clearer...?
Sure.
But.... It's a $200 scope

When bushnell took over Millet a few years ago, the moved production from mexico to china,as most the the parts were being made there anyway.
The price is good for that scope, i think bushnell taking over millet was a good thing, the glass is better a production times are shorter.

Shipment just arrived today.

Hey Farmboy are those made in China or the US. I could not find that model on your website do you have it in stock and how much.

I placed a order with opticsplanet the salesman said it could be shipped to Canada but I just got an email from them saying they are unable to ship it which means it is a US made product.

I see some on amazon.ca for $320 but I do not know where they are made.

They are made in China. The fact that Opticsplanet won't send it to you does not mean it is made in the USA. The "Made in China" stamp on the bottom of the sope gives it away lol. It doesn't matter where it is made......it can't be shipped from the USA to Canada without the proper permits.

How is the quality of these scopes. How are the optics. Are the Gen 1 scopes with the light switch at the eye piece also made in China.

I think I have been misinformed by information on the net. I read that the ones from China are copies or cheap reproductions for airsoft guns. Is Millet now being officially manufactured in China. How much warranty is on them.

I would like some opinions on my options. I like the looks of the Millet and like 30mm tube and illuminated rect. but would I be better off getting a Leupold VX1 1-4x20 they are about the same price. I am planning to install this on my Benelli MR1.
