Millett Tactical TRS-1 Rifle Scope.. Good ??

Thinking of purchasing the Millett Tactical TRS-1 Rifle Scope for my Ruger Sr-22.. has anyone had any experience with these..
 
I like mine, but like anything depends on your intended use. They are not the porshe's of scopes but you can always upgrade later ....if ever.
 
They're pretty good scopes for the money, but awfully big for a 10/22. Maybe more magnification than you need for a .22lr too...? I did have one, would have liked to have kept it...but sold it and moved-up to a Vortex Viper HS. Same power range, allot smaller. No regrets.

I'd say if it weren't so huge, it might be OK for range use, but for carry and offhand shots~too much. Just one opinion.

Ya i noticed they are big , how about a bushnell 3200, one of my buddies recommended it as well
 
4-16x is in no way too much magnification for a rimfire, actually suites them very well, most of mine all carry atleast 24x

in saying that the SR22 platform isnt exactly the best suited for the scope you are looking at in my opinion. the AR style platform is far better suited with a scope for quick aquisition like a millet DMS 1-4x. you will find very quickly that the SR22 is not a very comfortable fit for bench style shooting.
 
the TRS on a .22LR? wow, i have it on my SPS TAC .308 and i sometimes think it looks big on it. lol I cant imagine it on a .22

If you do buy and mount it post a picture!!!
 
for the 10/22 platform, i suggest looking at the Mueller APV, I bought one for my 10/22T and really, really like it! For the price, its a very good deal, IMO.... And I put a Mueller Eradicator on my Savage 93R17 BSEV, and its a perfect scope for the .17HMR.... Heck, it would sit nice on a .223 as well. Mueller glass is very nice, and its an often overlooked optic, prolly 'cause they are hard to find in Canada. I get mine from whitefalls.ca, Phil, the owner is a great guy to deal with, and does his sales online, as he's a small home based business..... give him a shout, and tell him Doug sent you! ;-) You may get a better deal..... :)
 
My TRS 4-16x50 is sitting in the box waiting for me to ship it back for service. something came loose inside and scatched up everything. It's only ever been on a .223 and a .308 so it's never seen too much recoil.
I'd look at something else
