mils v minutes

I just mounted a scope I bought 2 years ago. Noticed it is in 0.1 mils. How does one clcik compare to a 1/4" minute click?

Mil is a meter at 1000M. 0.1 should be 1cm@100M. If I've erred others will correct but I believe that's right.

OK. That is close to a third of a minute. I have a lot of experience with sights in third minute clicks.

0.1 mil at 100 yards is .36" or approximately 1/3".

I got a handy app called Easy MOA & Mil Calculator. It converts angles, distances, and target sizes in mils or MOA using metric or imperial units. It's a pretty simple app and I think every ballistic should have it but they don't.

I have two pages in my data book that I made to convert these.

One is the straight mil-moa conversion, the other shows what 1/4moa, 1moa, .1mil, and 1 mil are at varying ranges.

All good info to have, especially if you're in mils and your partner is in moa.

Thanks everyone. Scope is on a 7.5" AR. Just needed to know about how big a click was, so aid in zeroing.

As it happens, I shot it first at 300 yards and got it on paper. group was about 24"

Then I zeroed at 25 yards, for CQB. Elevation was very similar as 300 yd.

Now GTG.

I was thinking 24 inches was large at first, then I remembered this has a 7.5 inch barrel, & isnt a purpose built target rifle.

This particular rifle is over gassed, so the ammo I load is quite mild. 55gr at about 2400 fps. At 300 yards it is competitive with a slingshot. Which makes sense. They are about the same velocity.

AT 100 yds it is about 3"

That is excellent shooting for the handgun you are using.
