Milsurp action shooting?

Where are you? We shoot service rifle matches every month at Spruce Grove rifle range (Alberta). Next match is the 24th of June.

I'm in ontario, I realize that there are service matches but I mean something akin to cowboy action. With divisions that only allow certain action types and guns from similar time periods to compete against each other.

I think that it is a great idea..

I would love to do some stages with an enfield, Mauser or M1 Garand.

Vintage Pistols as well Steyr 1911 or Luger would be fun!

I would totally love to do an action-type course of fire with my Broomhandle Mauser! Not too many stages though, as I think I only have 3 stripper clips.

Also, one would have to allow sufficient time between competitors, to pick up the precious brass!

It does happen, on occasion you find that people dress in period uniforms. Both CFB Wainwright & CFB Shilo have re-enactor matches in December. This picture taken last december, is me as a Patricia Sniper Sergeant, circa April 1945

We have (from what I'm told) 1-3 WWII matches here in Shilo every year. This pic is from "The Battle of the Bulge" last December (06). We had 3/13 teams come in period dress...this next shoot we'll be adding at least one to that.
