milsurp alert!! - check this out!

Claven2 , very nice rifle! Ihope mine is as nice as yours!

I am not old enough to be nostalgic or remember but being able to get one of those must feel like wen some of the "more experience fellow " were able to buy new in raps Enfield, safn 49, garand etc...

The 1944 was a ГВ and was a heavy refurb with every serial number force matched. Honestly looked like it was rebuilt into a M43 pattern later.

One 1944 rifle with ВГ prefix is pictured in my book, page 51, picture of it's markings - page 112 (training rifle from museum)

Mr Plamondon helped tradeex to make this possible

Wouldn't surprise me. Jean and Jacques Langevin have both been close associates of Anthony for a long time. And I know Jean was in Europe doing the Camino last month in Spain, so maybe he doubled that with a gun deal - dunno?

@Claven2

Looks like a great example. Original matching light refurb like mine. We may be lucky and ours may be hand selected here in Canada.

I have had a chance to take my rifle apart and give it a good cleaning. I am under the opinion that these rifles where not used in anyway. The bore looks 'new' as well as the bolt face. As a matter of fact there is no real wear at all that I can see. I also found another serial number that matches everything else penciled in the barrel channel of the stock.

Interesting guns, and certainly rare, but they don't have much else going for them. If you were going to design a completely impractical gun, this would be it. ;)

You guys that know these importers - what are they saying is left over there? RX K98's, SVT40's, sks? Or is everything really as dried up and done as they say? Where did this haul come from if all the good finds are done?

Our luck was that Comunist Block hoarded all ww2 small arms and prezerved in cosmoline to be used if is a war with West as the last reserve.

Most importers won't talk about the stashes they are chasing for fear of competitors.

With the security situation in eastern Europe though, new imports are less likely than before.
