I think what hes saying is the the CF has never sold off that ammo so "where did is come from"

I'd have thought it would have something to do with "magazine" capacity. I thought you were only supposed to have long belts if it was designed/built before a certain date

I have argued in vain that linked ammo is not a belt, per se. M13 link is post-45.

Mind you, we do need a test case for this.

I looked at a lot of ammo like that when I was in the forces. Stuff like that usually falls of a truck to get to the civilian world.. I wouldn't want to be caught with it.

falls off a truck.... sticks to the barracks-bag...... got mixed in with the boot-laces. Things like that.

Never did me any good. Everything I wanted to have stick to my barracks-bag was too darned big to fit into it.... apart from the things that were overweight for the roads!
