Milsurp and other groups....payment for items

MO's are easily forged, EMT is the best. Some of you older fellows need to get with the times. Not hard, or insecure at all. Just dont use it on a communal comp, IE: at a coffee shop. At home, nothing is more secure. It has the least amount of fees, 1.50/5.00 for MO.

It is not hard to get set up, and trust me once you do, you will feel silly about how easy, and fast it is. Seriously nothing to it. :)

It is my preferred way to send/receive money.

I will add one more thing, to me giving a complete stranger your bank account info, and expecting nothing to go wrong, to me is dumb.
I would NEVER give out that info. You ask for it, and i will not deal with you.

All you give out is an email address for an EMT.

Canada Post has a number you can call to verify their MOs, my bank checks them when I bring one in. Its still a safe way to go, especially if you have a PO box. For small items however things like MO fees and COD charges can quickly throw any profit out the window.

Here's a reason:
I had someone send me a cheque, about 6 years ago. Well, okay, the cheque did not show up. But the damage to my home did when someone attempted to break in.
Kid was looking for guns, according to police, who apprehended him shortly thereafter.
Unless I know you, you don't get my address.

Joe; I'm sorry to hear about the B&E, but in an odd way as a buyer this is the very reason why I only go the way of cheque or money order. As a buyer I'm putting out sometimes substantial amounts of cash with very little to no guarantee that I will in fact receive the goods. Huge leap of faith on the part of the buyer, the EE and trader ratings here help immensely, but for me...If I'm buying, and I don't know you, you don't get my cash without giving your mailing address.
I haven't broken into anyone's house yet:p

Afterthought: how f'in stupid does someone have to get to break into a guys house who he knows owns guns...talk about a suicide run if the owner comes out of the bathroom to find d**khead half way through the kitchen window :D

We have president's choice financial across most of Canada, if you feel uncomfortable doing EMT with your own bank, opening up a PC financial account is a good idea.

ZERO fees whatsoever, so you can just add money to the account at any CIBC machine for free and then buy things via EMT instantly.

Unless I was selling something that would likely only have 1 interested buyer, there's no way I'd want to wait around for a money order to come in the mail, and for some reason (FRAUD ALERT) seems too shady for anything other than cheap ebay trinkets

I agree with Plinker -- buying is a bigger risk than selling in my view. Once the seller has the money - especially through the net - you may never see anything again. With a hotmail account, you are in for a struggle.

When I see an ad that says "EMT only" because the seller wants privacy - I just keep on moving. You can look at his PAL, but that is it...

The best of cours eis to meet and see the goods and pay for them. Everything else cause a risk allocation to be made.

There's one thing about being ripped off with a MO, and then there's having the security of your home and family jeapordized.
I do take MO's, several of you on this thread have paid me this way. No issue there, but EMT is, for me, safer, more convenient.
And the guy was pretty stupid, doubt he had his grade 9.

My trader rating isn't very high right now but you can check me on Evil bay at 6746ron i won't use cheques,EMT,or (FRAUD ALERT) i will only go money order or if your ok with it i will go right down to your bank and put it right into your account it's free i sold something the other day and we tried to use (FRAUD ALERT) they charged us $12 each to send and recieve on $385 a joke EMT is a risk once you send money and the guy don't deliver you out of luck going strait to the bank is also for that matter but less you can't get hacked afterwards it's your call on either.Money orders can cost you $10 but are traceable and insured if you send them right they get across Canada in 2 to 4 days just don't be in a hurry it has a risk also the guy might not deliver also again your call.I will say one thing on E-bay i will use (FRAUD ALERT) with a 4% extra charge or credit with my CC because i am insured through my CC no risk.

Some guys use those mail box rentals (Mail Boxes Etc) where available, for Money Orders, Certified Cheques.

On a big purchase, I phone the seller and discuss the item and transaction.
