Milsurp I Just work on (Golden Hawk)

My shop just finished work on the coolest milsurp. The F86 Golden Hawk was done up for 100 years of flight in Canada and will soon fling across the country for the Airshow season and maybe at a local airport near you.

Great to see the resto. Last one I saw flying was in Edmonton. Used it for air seeding. I have seen more on poles than actually flying. Good looking paint job.

Gorgeous. A lady I know in town used to be in the RCAF and worked on publicity for the Golden Hawks. And my dad was an armourer who worked on them.

The airport is 4 Wing, Cold Lake, Alberta.

I recall a guy buying a P51 in the states and flyiing it home. When we opened it up we found the 50's still in place.

I used to volunteer at the WCAM in Winnipeg, and the same thing happened with the Sabre they brought over from Pakistan in the early 2000's. They got into the museum and began to poke around, and discovered all 6 .50's in there, now dewatted
Part of me wants to say there were full belts in there, too
