I'm going to take a wild guess and say a No.4 Enfield as my best guess based on the overall look of that rifle :)

Without reciver markings on the left side I dont know specifics though. That would tell you I think. :D

Please reduce the size of your pictures. A dial up user will still be loading this page this time next week. It's a standard .303 British calibre, No. 4 Mk I * Lee-Enfield in very nice condition. The year stamped under that is the yar it was made. If it says, 'Long Branch'(I think I can just make that out) on the left side where the model number is, it was made in Canada. In what is now Mississauga.

yepper a good ole lee enfield no 4 get some pics of the proof marks and printing on it and i bet ya the guys here can damn near tell you what factory its from
is it a 7.62 .303 or .22?
if you don't know send some pics of the bolt
but just from what i see of the sights and the bolt yours "looks" like a .303 also is that a steel but plate? that might help too.
i also notice some paint this might be indicative of a Fazackerly (i probably spelled it wrong,if so I apologize for my blasphemy)

Is this a trick question? Maybe it's the new Tokyo Marui airsoft No.4? ;)

You mean like this one:

Lee Enfield Rifle No .4 Mk. I [Bolt-action Airsoft]
Made in Japan
Operating principle: Bolt-action airsoft
Ammunition: 6mm BB
Availability: On order, new

Remarkably the Lee Enfield Rifle No.4 Mk I was used by Commonwealth nations in no less than three major conflicts WWI, WWII and Korean War. It established reputation for ruggedness, quick rate of fire (for bolt-action rifle) and stopping ability.

Perhaps the most clear difference between Lee Enfield Mk I and other bolt-action rifles of its era is its 10 round magazine that was quick to load and could store more rounds than other rifle magazines/clips.

In this airsoft version 20 rounds are carried in the magazine.

Production of this airsoft rifle has been ceased and will not be made again.

Just for $1975.00 USD

A 100 years from now those things will be uber rare and sought after by Grandfathered, reigistered, airsoft collectors

I predict by the year 2107 they will be around the 10,000 credit mark

By one...live forever...retire comfortably in an apartment like the one Bruce Willis had in 'The Fifth Element'

If anyone hears of someone seriously considering that airsoft thing, let me know, I'll sell them a nice .303 and even pay for their PAL for the same price ;)

This Longbranch was FTR'd in 1949 by the Brit's so the safety is the correct one for this rifle. The more I read the more I learn......:dancingbanana:

carefull its an enfield, doing research will only lead to a life long addiction and rooms full of enfield varients. :D
