Hello, I am new to the forum, military surplus rifles and also the city of Vancouver.

I am wondering if anyone knows where you can purchase schmidt-rubins and garands in Vancouver? All I can find online in the area is SKS's and Czech mausers.

Thanks for your help.

I've not seen either in town. K31s can be had from any of a number of online retailers (I got mine from Calgary Shooting Centre). For Garands you are pretty much looking on the EE….

Welcome to the site. You might want to apply to the Equipment Exchange on here, usually those things your looking for come up every little while (though they are getting pricy).

You need to go onto the internet and check out the Historical Arms Collectors Society. They put on a monthly gun show near you and will have most of what you're looking for.

Lots of nice people in that group. Join it and attend a few meetings as well as participating in the shows and you will find just about everything you are looking for close by.

Wow, inundated with good advice. Thanks a lot guys.

I will be sure to check out the society and send a PM when I have a less busy work schedule.

Thanks again for the warm welcome

Wholesale in Langley also has about 60 more K31s that they were selling with 480 FMJ rounds for $600. I love my K31 - great shooter. Welcome to CGN

Thanks.

Is it correct that 7.5x55mm Swiss cartridge can be tipped with a .308 bullet? I don't know much about reloading, but could the surplus brass be reloaded as hunting ammo?

^ I'm not reloading (yet), but I have heard that the brass I have has a difficult primer to remove. There is a lot of info floating around here about reloading, but I have not read into until I am ready to start doing it.
