Met up with Lonedrone and Muzzleflash.

We only had time to shoot a bit so I only have two rifles. My M38 was not even on paper so I switched to my M96. I have had it for about 8 years and have never fired it before. To my shock my first shot was in the black!! I guess this one will have to come out more often. We only had time to shoot two targets. Have to try to get some M91 time in soon.

Combined score of 66

Last weekend I got out my M38 Mosin, SVT40 and Garand.

Both Ruskies originally had bad cases of sticky bolt that I've largely corrected, though the Tokarev will need another round of polishing to overcome the occassional stovepipe or failure to extract.

All three rifles did okay at 100yds. At 200 I got 6 of ten on paper for both Russian rifles, and for some reason the Garand wasn't printing right at that range when I ran out of ammo for it. I'll send off the targets shortly and see if I could try them again after Labour Day, and perhaps a few other milsurps if I could scrounge up enough ammo for them.

It sure is lots of fun getting these guns out to the range!

Well as you can see I need some more posting pics training so scroll to the right at bottom of post.
The biggest surprise I had was with the Mas 36/51 in that I did not think it would shoot as tight as it did. These targest were a challenge to shoot for sure. I could just make out the target at 200 and 300 I could not distiguish it at all but thats my eyes. With the 91/30 sniper just a small movement of the PU scope adjustments would move a bullet a long way. The 577/450 is always a hoot to shoot and more accurate than I expected. This was a fun shoot and hope to do it again. Pics are a little scrambelled up but I did what I could.
THANKS.
