Would have to be an exemption, and wouldn't be fair to allow one underpowered rifle in and not others in say, .223. Just not in keeping with the spirit of this match, though I did run an SKS match a few years ago. SKS would lose quite badly in this event too, especially as the range opens up. Different guns for different tasks stuff. :)
 
Got my targets and I will be shooting with my 1944 BSA No.4 Mk I.
I also have an EAL Rifle, Just wondering if that would be ok as well.
 
While the Husqvarna 1600 aren't military rifles per se,
they have a mostly Mauser 98 action,
have a mauser trigger
load like a mauser
have a mauser length barrel.

not to mention the best steel of all time...oh well its your loss...:)
 
Getting some M14 shooters in the mix, will be a neat comparison of ages. Next week I'll shoot, just bought brass and bullets for my old VZ24 Mauser. I've been vigorously scrubbing its dark old bore too, let's see how she does. Look forward to the first results, who's gonna set the scores to beat?
 
Had to wait a bit to post this, but I'll be entering with my brand new (for me anyway). M91/30 Mosin Nagant, 1943 Vintage. Its chewed up enough that it may have actually seen action, but the bore is decent. However, it didnt come with the bayonet as promised! There goes my accuracy :p

Im so jazzed to get this thing I'll try to post pictures, too. My local range is pretty dinky, so I'll only be able to manage 100 yards. Wish me luck!
 
I was a bit rushed packing for the range Saturday so I was limited to an SKS and Swede with Diopters (and didn't want to shoot off half a box of Remington, esp since it wasn't sighted in). So much for last weekend.

If I can dig up my enbloc clip, I'll see if I can sight in the Garand next time out. It's been sitting around for years without being shot, and I have some 150gr FMJ lying around for sighting in and a group or two at 100 and 200 yards. With luck, I'll confirm my zero with the 150gr SP too and have another rifle for deer season.

It has to be a military bullet ... FMJ? I live in the middle of the arctic tundra and have wide open space to try this out ... but only have commercial ammo available in 150gr PHP Winchester Max Bonded locally. Please advise if I'm reading your rules wrong! Thank you,
