HI everyone

would a lee enfield action and reciever be able to handle the pressures of .375 HH mag? Or is it better for me to look at a p17 or p14?

Buy a factory made one--you will be happier and will save many $$$$$.

I think you would definitely need a P-17 Action, but as 44Bore said, why not just buy a factory made one and save the cash and headache?

A P14 won't require the bolt face to be altered, but it is still an expensive venture either way.

My gunsmith says that this sort of thing dates back to when people couldn't afford to buy the actual rifle in those chamberings.

A modern action would shoot better, is stronger, and the resale value is ... well just is.

unless you really want to do it on an Enfield.... there's no real reason to dump a pile of money into this.

On the other hand, I understand you. I put myself money in rifles that will never sale for more... but I do it because I like it.
