Milsurp rifles with the most bang for your buck

You guys are making my pocket book lighter with all this talk of K-31's I just called Calgary shooting centre and ordered one. That makes two swiss guns for me this week as I just ordered a P226 yesterday from SFRC.
My friends Milsurps always outshoot mine (mine is a Martini-Henry) so hopefully with the K-31 I wont have a problem keeping up to the Enfield and the k-98.

Chilean Steyr 1912-61 short rifle in .308 from tradeex. ;)

That would be my second choice. The price is nice and they're simple to feed.

The long rifles are kind of "meh", though. The method by which they were converted (re-bored barrel and soldered chamber insert) might not make them a good choice as a shooter.

Have to go with the Swiss K-31 or the Swedish M96. Swiss from Calgary Shooting Centre and Swede from Tradex. Similar groups and both are extremely well made. Swede seems somewhat less picky on reloads. Get a Swede with soderin aperture sight and you won't be sorry. Because I am a senior I put a red dot (sacrilege, I know), on the K-31 using the Swiss scope clamp-on mount. On a good day I can shoot 5 round 1.75 inch group at one hundred yards with either rifle which is comparable to what I can do with .17HMR and 4-9 X 40 scope.

Where would one find a scope mount for the K31?
