Milsurp with cast results

And here's another target

Muzzleflash- I'm using almost the same load in a Yuko Mauser. Lee bullet sized 325 over 25.0 grs H 4198. Shoots around an inch at 50 yds. I've usually had good sucess with 4198 in mid caliber military bolt guns. Used to use IMR but H4198 meters better.

I used to shoot lead is milsurps. I found the heavy round nose bullets worked well. Velocities were not hot. I used Unique, 3031, 4227, 4198 and that real bulky powder. Brain fart. You know the one I mean.

Here are some loads that worked well:

6.5x55 Swede
170gr 13.8gr 2400

7.5x55 Swiss
180RN 10.5 unique

30-06
210RN 20.5 2400
190RN 13.5 Unique very accuarate
190RN 10.0 Unique very mild

303 Brit
190grRN 12gr Unique

8x57
170FN 20.5 2400

The 2400 loads are generally in the 1600 fps range and have gas checks. Optional on the Unique loads.

12 grains Red Dot with bullets made from 9 pounds of cleaned wheelweight metal and one pound of 60/40 solder. Applies to just about any surplus cartridge with the exception of the 7,62x39 which requires 10 grains.
Try to cast 2 mil. oversize and lubricate with any good Alox or Orange Magic lube.
Plink!
PP.
