Broke ass student who is collecting - Got me another job that's sole purpose is to keep my obsession alive. That and I've thinned out all other money costing aspects of my life - who'd have thought a uni student would spend beer money on ammo (for those of you struggling with student milsurpitis, if you must waste money on beer, save money and don't eat that day either, it'll take less to get you drunk, and you won't have to clean up messy puke and miss the bus that goes to the range the next morning.)

Sorry, I missed the broke-ass student thing. I did not collect when I was in University, just hunting rifles then.

I'm know at the point where I have focussed my collection and am trying to get better examples of what I have. But of course I won't turn down a bargain or another piece if it was interesting enough.

And yes, I have sold all my pimped rides so I think I am past that stage, better sell your shares in ATI boys...

I'm just trying to decide if a Russian SKS or Nagant revolver is more interesting...of course the milsurpitus in me says both are

I'm curious to see where the rest of you see yourselves.

I see the stages of milsurpitus as:

1. I bought my first Milsurp - this is interesting and fun to shoot!
2. Wow a got this gun but I see these are going like hot cakes I better buy one of these!
3. I'm selling my wife's/GF's underwear on eBay to buy whatever Milsurp I can, no matter if I have doubles and I don't care if the bore is a sewer pipe!
4. I've deicided to focus my collection on the "blah-blah" period or "blah-blah" rifle!
5. I've now dumped the pimped SKS and decided to have only original stuff in my collection!
6. I have only good examples and buy only good examples of pieces!
7. I own more milsurps than my wife has shoes and the Newfoundland Liberation Army routinley call me for donations!

well I'm somewhere between 5 and 6 but tend to regress down to 3 every now and then
