Regarding costs, don't think that I had to pay the same prices you pay in Canada or the US of A!!! I will get two new Thompsons in the days to come. They cost 590€ a piece!!! Same goes for all the other stuff, as there is no real market for the ful auto stuff, except for deactivated stuff, they are very cheap!
I'm still indoctrinated from the post WW2 years! The Krauts are the evil guys!!!!! No, I'm joking, It just comes that I love the GI stuff but I do not really care for the german guns!
There are so many of them for prices ranging from 250 to 300€ that I haven't bothered yet.

The Thompson is an Auto-Ordnance Corporation! Bren will happen in the years to come, there are quite a few around, Lewis will not be that easy!

I couldn't tell you, there is ony a serial number, no marking whatsoever indicating that it saw servive in the GDR.

Buffdog, If I knew how to post pics, I would send you some of my Vickers, Lewis, Bren, and STEN and they all work!
I was around in the late 1950s and early 1960s when you could have these things here in Canada, and even shoot them on the range.
My Lewis, complete with case, 4 extra drums, spare barrel, spare parts, and anti-aircraft sights cost me $65 then. The Irish were changing over to Bren Guns and sold off their Lewis Guns.
A brand new Savage made Thompson with a 50 round Type L drum, six 20 round magazines and four thirty round magazines cost me $135.
At one time, I had many of the pictured firearms, but then, the Liberal Government intervened.
Several years later, when I moved from Ontario to Alberta, I sold off a lot of firearms. I thought I did quite well and profited nicely on them at the time. When I see the astronomical prices here in Canada and the States on these items, I am truly amazed.
