Milsurp's today, where to start?

It depends on what your looking for. A AG-42b is limited on what factory ammo you can use (cannot use Federal for example as their sensitive primers can cause out of battery detonations with them, I know this from experience.

What happened with your AG42 "experience "?
Did you have an OBD? How much damage was there?

If going on a budget , and you already have an SKS , a Mosin bolt action might be a good match ; and with sporterized Enfields being cheap and plentiful , you may want to throw one of those into the mix as well as a beater gun .

Basically federal primers are extra sensitive and shouldn’t be used in that rifle. Due to the momentum of that action the firing pin was sticking out a little on the return after I fired a round, and when it went to chamber the next round struck the primer and set it off before it was in battery. Gas vented out the magazine blowing the floorplate off, bullet went 1” off the previous one on target, rifle was fine afterwards though. Old thread with some photos here.
