Hello all,

Finally introducing myself after a long time of lurking. I have learned a ton so far from reading various posts.

I'll have to thanks friends and friends of the family for getting interested in this sport. Through them i have shot numeours firearms...too may for me to list and remember, all tons of fun to shoot.

I just completed the CFSC/CRFSC, just sent in my app to the RCMP, while still waiting for the CFO to send the formal results. I took my courses at the York Region Firarms Academy, amazing teachers, great place. I found this through here, while i was lurking, thanks guys.

Now i play the waiting game and while waiting the gun list keeps changing and getting larger...lol.

I am looking at ranges too...so far Guelp(GRGC) is looking to appeal to me the most.

i hope to eventually meet fellows of the sport and learn and learn as much as i can.
cheers,

Hey Bro,

I'm kind of in the same boat here in Burlington, but I've got a question.

I did the courses and tests a few weeks ago, and am still waiting for my papers to arrive from the CFO. Just out of curiosity, how or why did you send in your app. without the certified test results?

I've got the whole package ready to go, all that's missing is the certified results, which I've been waiting patiently for.

i have done my courses and i never had to wait for anything but for my pal which did take about 6 weeks. they gave me everything right there and the dnr office. they should have done the same unless they do things different in other provinces

i just sent it in without the results with a posted note saying I will send results from course once i get them from CFO. Funny thing is i just got my test result in the mail today. So i will call them to arrange to send them in and ill update.

timeline for PAL/Rpal so far.
-Finished the course on the 29th of june
-CFO stamped july 5th

The place I took the exam at (challenged for $120 or so at the Sportsman's Expo in GP) submitted the test results for me, and the timing was perfect - it arrived two weeks before the postal strike. :)

-Aug 30 License in my mail box!

total time from taking courses to mailbox = 2 months.

wasnt as bad as i expected

Thanks again for posting the time line!

For anyone going through the same process, I just want to point out that I took the safety course the same week, but waited until the forms returned from the CFO before I mailed my application. For me, the last of my references was interviewed yesterday, so according to your time line, there's a good chance my license will be issued this weekend, if not Monday, and by the time I receive the card, it will be over a month longer than Thumper here.

Lesson learned - follow the CGN instructions to the T, you won't be disappointed!
