cant hold it back any longer, have to show it. havent had a big bore rifle in a long time, miss my old 45-70 #1

made a trade deal a while ago for the gun of my dreams, a .458 Win Mag. She's semi custom Model 700, having a 24 inch King barrel, Safari sights, Remington Laminate stock, Custom made trigger guard and hinged floor plate. It has Leupold bases and quick release rings. The holes in the mounts and reciever were widens to accept wider mounting screws. All metal parts match in color and texture. She weighs a tonne, and will break hearts this season, literally:D

Shes not wearing a scope at the moment, but after my wedding, Im going to be treating her to a Leupold VX-III 1.5 x 5-20mm. Also going to be beginning reloading this year...........because its about time

anyways, hears some pics of the beast.

pics dont do it justice, she changes color with different types of light.:D:D:D

dont get me wrong, im already trying to work into him that guns are not toys and to respect them, and not be afraid of them. He's getting his own Crickett rifle soon to grow into.

.................your getting the wife a scope?? Man i married the wrong brod. :D

Just a question from someone who has never fired any rifle with that big of a tube, does it hurt like hell? will it dislocate your shoulder, or knock you on your ass? It does seem to have a good recoil pad, just wonderring what a 458 is like to shoot from someone who has.
beautifull stock btw

The key to a fun gun in a large caliber is weight of the rifle, and that one got it.:D And also helps if it fits your frame.

Win94,
My wife bought me a 35 Whelen for an engagement rifle. Maybe you did get short-changed in the broad department?:p
If Remchester had the same Ad-men as DeBeers they would be very profitable and there would be a lot more happy marriages.:D Three months salary buys real nice rifle.

since i havent collected all the reloading gear yet and learned how to do it, i have only had the privilage of shooting winchester facorty loads. Im 5 foot 11.5 and 235 pounds, and the rifle is a tad heavy, and i found it A-OK to shoot.

I knew it was there every time i pulled the trigger. ah well, starts me with the brass collection :runaway:
