Mini 14 barrel threading

When threading the barrel we would have to remove the front sight. We machine the sight off to create a threading surface. I assume you would want a 1/2x28 thread which is not a problem. If the upper is fully stripped and just sent to us as a upper ready to go in the lathe you are looking at $200. If we have to fully strip the gun its an extra $100 so it would be $300 in total.
 
Depending on model and year of production. If the rifle has a pinned front sight it can be moved back and the thread can be cut. Some older models however have a non removable front sight so it has to be machined off. There are replaceable front sights on the market if this is the case. Really it depends on the rifle. It may have a pinned sight but because of years of shooting it may be hard to remove without damage. I hope this answers your question.

Only double what dlask charged me... not bad I guess. Maybe joe didn't charge me the Canadian nonrestricted tax?

Also... what's the lower on a mini? Ha ha.
