Mini 14 black gun build

If you can find me a new Swiss or XCR for $1500 I'll buy it right now.

I figure $800ish for the stainless gun, $150 on a stock, misc parts another $250 and I'm at around $1200 which is about 1/2 an XCR and 1/3 a Swiss.

Id take the 1200$ and go buy myself a Colt Hbar II

Almost all mini14s are built and ready to go for under $1k, what makes these ones special besides being used?

Sorry I assumed this thread was about blinging them up with hard to find stuff and how some folks felt it was too expensive trying.

Just to be clear, AGAIN - Do what you like to your rifle - It IS a free country.

I just happen to think that the Mini 14 (the newer ones, anyway) are a fine little carbine, in stock form. The minute you start hanging aftermarket doodads on 'em, you start running the risk of things not working well.

But that's just my opinion, which is only based on 20 years of messing with guns, and often being disappointed by messing with stock configuration.

I cant wait for the sparta, should be around $300, $600-700 for a mini and you have a non-res black rifle for $1000 or less

Al Simmons in Hamilton. It's a Butler Creek Stainless folder. Cost $129 but I've seen them for $99 on the net.

Accu-Strut L. Didn't shoot this one with accu strut yet.

I went with the Stainless and OD green Tapco with a Magpul AFG, I love it! Best stock you could have on a Mini in my opinion for the price. I had always wanted to build a black mini and I think they look awesome too. Really it's up to you my friend.

I've also had the Butler creek folder and it is ok but not as solid as the tapco.
