Mini 14 Bullpup Stock ???

Back in the day, had one on my Mini-14 - totally hated it; awful trigger pull and terrible ergonomics, especially compared to actual bullpup stock designs. Funny thing is that if Ruger decided to offer a factory version of this, it would be totally legal for the Canadian market but a no-no to put it on yourself. This is what happens when a room full of clueless lawyers write idiotic gun laws....

The only way it would be legal is if the stock was an integral part of the operation. Essentially it needs to be the receiver and Not just a drop in. If you can pull a receiver out of the stock and that receiver can still fire, then the stock is a prohibited device. If you think of factory produced bull pups like the tavor for example, the stock/ chassis IS the receiver. It’s not just a receiver in a stock. If that makes sense.

PROHIBITED DEVICES
Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 9

1. Any electrical or mechanical device that is designed or adapted to operate the trigger mechanism of a semi-automatic firearm for the purpose of causing the firearm to discharge cartridges in rapid succession.

2. Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the typeknown as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position.

Its only prohibits "stocks" its why we are allowed to own bullpup "firearms"... Some idiot just wasnt thinking and wrote it wrong because he knew nothing about guns or terminology. Probably just to arroused at writing a stupid law.
