Mini-14 GB

I have a stainless steel Mini14GB and a blue Mini14GB. The London Police Service in the UK issued them and then replaced them with MP5's. The blue one have a side base for some type of british scope.

Any chance you can post a few pics????

I have not seen a SS GB here in Canada........ they are few and far between

The GB I have has the OPP stamps on it. & also have stamped on the side for law Enforcement / Military use only. Anyone know whey that is there. Also came with a Leo 20/5 rd mag.

Dont know what the OPP stamp looks like, but if there is such a thing it was added in Canada I am guessing.

The LEO stamp on the left side of the Ruger Mini receiver was added during production as the gun was made in the USA during the AWB. The AWB prohibited such items as Flash Suppressors, Bayo Lugs, Pistol grips, ect, ect. Since the Ruger GB models were not in compliance with the AWB they were only for LEO & Military and were stamped accordingly. Now the AWB has expired and to my knowledge Ruger is no longer stamping that on their guns.

I have one of the first 30/5 rd Ruger mags when Ruger made some for the AC-556. We got to star tadding pics when we talk about our toys. Wers my dam camera.

The early AC-556 20 rnd mags were really cut down 30s and had a pinned plastic floor plate. Interesting little design... I have one here at home :)

Gunsdora, is the 30s floor plate metal or plastic?

Here are some pics. Not very good . Hope you can see the OPP stamp.

The P-R-O is a Ruger proof-test Stamp for receiver Rockwell hardness testing...... The early SS receivers were soft and were recalled. Ruger will retest any early SS Mini and when you get it back it will have 2 of those stamps.

My GB is the same as gunsdora's except that it doesn't have the proof mark and that it's marked '11' instead of '3' on the side of the plastic cover. It came with a Ruger-made 20-rounder without any markings on the sides. It only has the Ruger logo on the floor plate. I have an original military contract M7 bayonet for it as well as a Ruger 5-rounder. I'm looking to buy a Ruger 30-rounder, an aftermarket 40-rounder, and an ultra-rare Ruger 10-rounder. I'm also looking for an AC-556 if anybody has one of those...
