It's a Ruger AC556. You can see the selector behind the rear sight.

My god those cops need to go on a diet.
I mean I have 20 pounds to lose as well but golly that picture is facking embarrassing for a job that demands you to be physically fit!

when i was in france in '05 the gaurds in the airport were carrying a mix of famas and beretta smgs. not too much standardization it seems

Who the heck cares what they were carrying or if some of them were fat. CBC reported that the French mobilized 88,000 police and soldiers into the field to search for the terrorists, in what - one, maybe two days tops. My understanding is that the NYPD is larger than the Canadian Army.

The terrorist that attacked Parliament had to be neutralized by the Sergeant of Arms. Luckily the Canadian version was armed with a hunting rifle not an AK47.

A very large amount of ruger mini 14 and ac556 as well as remington 870. Were sold to the french
At one time you could own a mini 14 in france as long at it was Chambered in 222 rem. Ruger did a run on theses.

The video is titled "assault port de vincennes" and you can see the unedited french spec op takedown of the loser Jihadi. I speak French and found it fascinating to listen to the team leader yell out (in french) "allright lads let's go!" One team member jumps into the shop and goes hard right in a flanking move while everyone else puts lead downrange. I can't help but think that a 12ga with 3" nitro magnum buckshot would have been fantastic in that close range situation. Wonder why no teams use the old 12ga!?
