There's a company called Canstar Arms that I've seen advertising in the Canadian Access to Firearms paper, and from what they have listed on their website, they appear to have Mini-30 5/30 mags for $70. They don't state the manufacturer, though.

As for Mini-14 mags, ki11ercane mentioned something about working on bringing in some 5/20 mags cheap.

5/20 mags cheap? I will believe it when I see it, and when I see it, I will buy it!

I know what you mean. I bought the aftermarket 5/30 mags I have for $70 or so from Zefarm back before Jose died and the site got put on hold, and that was the cheapest I'd seen them anywhere at that time. But in regards to the new 5/20 mags ki11ercane is supposedly working on bringing in, he mentioned something about hoping for a $30 or so pricetag.

Here's hoping he's right.:D

It's a real kick in the nuts to see the 30 rounders south of the border selling for $13-$16 dollars each.

I emailed Hi Calliber Services in BC requesting some info on the Tapco mags. Since they are listed as a Tapco dealer.

This was their response.

They have been pushed back till the new year, They are listed on the website now, They will be $48 & pinned in the same way as the M4, SKS mags have been

Does $13 USD to $48 Canadian seem right???

Fab Sports said he's also working on getting the Tapco Mini series mags in. I hope he pulls through and can offer them at the same price as Tapco M4 mags.

I love my Mini 14, but the price of mags makes me not want to own one.

There even hard to come by in the USA because of quality issues with the non-factory mags and the factory mags are expensive and pricey so that anwers part of the questions.

Be careful check out the quality of the product before you buy if you do choose to buy online just buy one then buy more make sure there factory Ruger or good quality after market. There are some good quality after market ones there just hard to find so this is my warning be cautious out there.

I was speaking to a US tapco dealer a couple days ago and he told me Tapco is re-releasing their Mini 14 and Mini 30 mags in the new year.

Apparently they will have fixed the feeding issues and have been upgraded with Steel lips.

With features like that we should expect to pay at least 59.99 per mag.

I feel so bitter right now.

I don't think it's impossible for some one that is crossing the border to take or buy a cordless drill, a rivet gun and some rivets and plug them.

Prices of many items in the US are cheapre than ours especially now with the way the dollar is standing.

I was under the impression that US Export Laws do not allow you to export magazines from the US without an Export Permit.

Importing into Canada is not a problem, as even in the CBSA firearms documents they directly mention a "pop rivet" as a viable means in limiting a magazine.

If I'm wrong on the US Export laws somebody please correct me.

I live right on the border and already make trips accross to pick up other parcels.
