Mini 14 scope mount

I have a mini 14 183 serial numbersd gun and I put a nstar mount that won,t hold zero any one find a better mount or are iron sights the only answer
 
"...that won't hold zero..." Mounts don't do that. The scope does. The screws as tight as they can be? Mind you, that whippy barrel will have some to do with it too. Tends to throw groups around as it heats up.
No punctuation keys?
 
Yeah, mounts can do that, if the mounting screws are continually loosened by vibration or shaken loose by rattly semi-auto actions. I've had a couple of Minis that required the mounting screws to be checked regularly and frequently for tightness. This was the case even when using the Ruger rings.

If the screws are not loose, why do you feel that it is the mount rather than the scope that's failing to hold zero? Is the scope a Walmart special?
 
you can move the mount with your hand its the old school mini side mount and I was hoping someone had a better mounting system I went on Midway usa web sight and read the reviews and their all junk
