Mini-14 stainless Ranch....barrel is crooked!

barrel

My old one had a front sight held on with a pin and was very easy to remove (once the pin was drifted out) so it could have been rotated easily, is this one attached differently?

Is the barrel crooked, or is the front sight rotated too far?
The front sight is pressed and pinned. Should be possible to reset it if that is where the problem lies. I assume that the gas system is properly aligned, and that the barrel is properly indexed.
If the rifle is shooting to the left, the front sight would need to be moved to the left - opposite of the rear sight - to bring the point of impact over. Is the rear sight way over to the right?
Mini barrels are very slender, and can get bent from the gas block out. If the barrel is bent, best solution would be a replacement.

It might be quite hard to rotate. And if you do, the pin isn't going to go back in, because the cuts in the sight and barrel won't line up. To take the sight off, place the muzzle against a block of wood, and use a non marking drift and a hammer to tap the sight foreward. When the sight is reinstalled, properly oriented, it would be easiest to secure it with a Loctite product, like their sleeve retaining adhesive. Then you won't have to worry about a cut in the barrel for the pin.
But if the rifle is shooting to the left, shifting the sight to the right, as viewed from the aiming position, is going to make it shoot further to the left.
