Mini 14 Stock on a Deerfield

Anyone know if you can put the new deerfield in a mini14 stock? I'd like a synthetic stock for my deerfield.

A .44 Mag Deerfield? No. The two rifles are totally different.

The actions are the same. I've often wondered the same thing....There might be some modification involved (Esp. the forward end), but I can't see why it couldn't be made to fit.

I wish I still had a mini...then I could try a switch-over with my Deerfield and let you know.

Maybe a gunnut here has both?

"...thought the new deerfield uses a mini 14 action?..." There's more to it than the receiver used. The inletting for the rotary mag isn't even close to the inletting for a box mag.

Sunray, have you actually compared the two at any time? I'm looking for some facts here. I've owned a mini, and currently own a deerfield, and based on memory, the mag-wells are indeed very close. If anything the .44 magwell is larger, although not by much. This would make modification easier for sure.

Does anybody own both that can offer some info?
