Mini 14 Tactical

The wood folders are so rare, they are collectible.
I've seen a brand new one on EE with $900 (stock only) a couple of years back.
First I thought it was a typo.

Ouch! I bought mine at Armco for $399 before tax this summer. I think I got a fair deal on mine, considering what they go for. I just wish I'd also bought the mini I'd seen on The Gun Dealer's site this spring. He wanted just under $600 for a mini with a factory folder - apparently, he mustn't have known what they sell for.

Ya mean like this?:D:D:D

Yes, exactly!

Another option for a wood folder would be the Federal Ordinance underfolder, though they seem much more rare than the factory folders. Here's a couple of pics from Perfect Union:

I do see one for sale in the EE, however.

That SCAR stock is bad a$$. Here's mine at the range wearing an ATI Strikeforce from FABSPORTS (recommend the store, too - great service). Need to put the top rail on and get an optic, just debating which one to get.

Don't believe the black rifle gun snobs. The mini 14 is excellent. I have had a few over the years and after shooting literally tens of thousands of rounds, I have never had a gun induced jam. Some of them were minute of pie plate. My current mini 14 is the new model with the heavier tapered barrel. It is stainless and synthetic and will shoot my 69 grain handloads into almost 1.5" all day. For Saskatchewan weather, it cannot be beat with that stainless finish, and it doesn't scare the uneducated gun folks too terribly much (if I want to do that, I use my CZ858). The mini runs cleaner than many black guns, costs less, has integral scope mounts and included rings, can be had in stainless and is reliable to a fault. I won't be giving mine up any time soon.

And above all, the Mini-14 is NON-RESTRICTED

There, fixed it for you...

Why does it have to be tacticool for hunting yotes? Get a wood/blued or wood/stainless mini-14. Non restricted and cheaper than any swiss arms guns or ar-180. The stock sights are decent and with a scope it would be a good hunting rifle. Just my opinion.

I have the wood stock & the full poly. I prefer the folder for convenience. When I go camping, it fits in my duffle bag perfectly. Other than that, I prefer the full stock for shooting.

I think they should also make a mini with a fixed wood stock and a flash hider.

That's what I'm ultimately planning to do with mine.
