Mini 14 Vs MR1

I have owned/ own both.

For me the mini own hands down. They are both in the same league accuracy wise, (solid 4" guns with any ammo) the extra $600 for the MR1 pays for a lot of mags!

Yes because you're going to need twice as many mags for the Mini14 as for the MR1 that can shoot pistol AR mags.

I have never shot the MR1 but I have owned a few Mini's. I like the Mini because of the aftermarket support and the availability of getting it in stainless steel. It's also a more affordable option for a throw around truck/bush gun.
After I sold my last one I regretted it pretty quickly and picked up a NIB "used" one off the EE. Won't be getting rid of it anytime soon.

I like the pistol mags. I got two for my Type 97. I also like the 5rd .50 Beowulf mags. The extra rounds are fun for showing off I guess. But when I'm by myself at the range, I usually never load more than 5 rounds. The mags are cool and ads some extra fun. But if there is ever a day we can remove those rivets in our normal capacity magazines, legally or because we have too due to some crazy event, those 10rd pistol mags and 14 round Beowulf mags will be pretty worthless.

Thats why you should have a ton of mags, ton of pmags, ton of atrs mags and a ton of beowolf mags.
