Mini 14 vs. Norinco M14

??

The Ruger is a FAR better rifle.

Do you own ether?
If you buy the target version with the laminated stock maybe. But the average stainless ruger is garbage. M14 is a different class rifle. Cheaper, cool factor, fun factor, is higher then ruger. More universal.
Should of compair su16 and ruger. Ruger would be the loosing side there too.
My 2 cents.

;)

We are talking about a 450$ rifle, after a little tweaking you have an awesome rifle, you can't say the same thing about the ruger. Won't cost you more then 50$ to index the barrel right. On the other hand I owned a few m14s and didn't have any issues. Awesome rifles strait out of the box.

Oh I don't know... Ruger does manage to get the barrels on straight.

Ever wonder why Canada ammo test fires each and every one. Think it's just cause they're nice guys?

I ordered a Mini-14 because I think Ruger makes a good product. I have been happy with my other 3 Ruger firearms and if there are any serious issues I am sure they stand behind their products. Not sure about refund or warranty on Norcs though, but it's hard to screw up old proven designs eh? The Mini-14 is modeled after M14 and was first produced in the early 70's.

Mini -14 hunting big game - no, I have a 30.06. Non restricted plinker that shoots cheap, yes. I look at it this way - after you shoot a few thousand rounds you might be even on cost, after that the M14 will be a pig. .223 is about the same cost as .45ACP... maybe less.

Non restricted semi-auto rifles... maybe I should get a M1 Garand..... Hmmmmm

M14 all the way, I don't own a mini but I love my m305. After doing some work to it and adding some USGI components and bingo! The recoil is really not much of a bother; it is a heavy gun and throws the brass In a nice pile
