Hey, I have a favor/question for you guys with Mini's/Sparta's. I recently purchased a used Mini14 off these forums, I got it and proceeded to the range to play/sight in a scope. Well, it seems the guy who I bought it from actually modified the Sparta stock to accommodate his Mini 14 that shouldn't have been mounted in the stock in the first place. He took so much aluminum from the inside of the top rail so the sights would fit inside (non removable rear sights). After i fired 30 or so shots i seen two small cracks in the rail! The rear sight "ears" were trying to protrude through! So I ended up taking it all apart to fix the top rail, and in the process I lost the small plastic square that slides in the side of the stock, that designates the caliber! I didnt know it was even there, and when I took the rifle/stock into my shop and used a compressor/air to clean it all up after doing some dremmel work to it, somehow I lost the little square piece! I looked for a solid HOUR, on hands and knee's, never to find the bloody thing!
So, Im asking anyone here who has done a sparta "re-stock" on their Mini, Do you happen to have a spare square? any caliber would be fine! I'd just like to be able to close that little hole up again! Any help would be so greatly appreciated!
