Mini 14

The funny thing is that before the Internet came along there was a Mini 14 behind the seat in just about every farm and ranch truck in North America and farmers and ranchers quite happily killed thousands and thousands of coyotes and other pests without ever realizing how terrible the gun they were using was. Thank god the internet came along and enlightened us...

Mini 30

I had a 183 series stainless mini 14. It got the job done on yotes ect for me, but it was not the most accurate firearm.

I liked it, but ended up trading it straight up for a CZ858 Tactical awhile back.

Now its been a year since I'v had a mini and now I want one again So I decided to instead step up to its bigger brother the Mini 30, and it will serve as my new Deer Carbine.

I'll let you all know how it performs on the field soon enough, and hopefully I will like and keep it.

I see that it is an older series as well however with the more spagetti like barrel so it is hard to say.

Just for your info, I shoot the Mini 30 and it consistently shoots clays at 200 yds. At 100, grouping is 1-1/2 inches

ive got a stainless 14. no, i can put them all in one hole at 100 yards, but its a small, handy truck gun that holds them inside of 4''.

If you want to pop gophers get the new ruger target mini14 or find a nice bolt gun.

I had a very nice, late 80's production stainless ranch rifle.

Worst firearm ever.

Worst trigger I've ever seen on any firearm and grouped 4"-5", scoped and sandbagged at 100 yards.

Unbelievable from a rifle retailing for nearly $800 at the time. I have a hard time describing how pissed and let down I was.

Since then I've talked to lots of Mini 14 owners who had similar experiences.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Different guns from the new "580" series guns. New ones have heavier barrels, etc and better machining and better tolerances. Don't be afraid.

Mini 14 - 580 series are fine guns. The "Target" models will print under 1 MOA out
of the box, tweaking only the resonator - verified pretty much universally by all
owners.

Even the 182 can be made to shoot almost as good as a new 580.

It is an affordable, proven and accurate .223 unrestricted semi.
Something which isn't common in our market place.
