Mini 14

I seen one for sale in EE

I got it :p

Now I own 2 a ranch and a target

My Ranch rifle is more then acceptable for hitting coyotes out to 300 meters. I can hit clays fairly reliably out to about 200 meters, I miss maybe 1 out of 3.

I can't wait to see how the target model shoots when it arrives. I will probably dump it in a less fugly stock though.

If have the Hogue stock I understand but the laminate thumbhole works very well (just a little heavy).

Try the 55gr PMC Bronze, were producing ≤1 MOA (the 55gr PMC Tac / green tip not shoot the same though may group well too if change damper setting, have not done that yet as the Tac ammo is AR food). With a bit of practice can hit shooters >12' away with your brass.

You may want to check that set screws on harmonic damper are tight (blue loctite when found its happy place), not shoot so well when becomes loose...

Yes… The mini target is an awesome, extremely accurate rifle. When you get the right dampener setting, with a given load, easily a MOA Weapon System. Problem is, most guys that buy these never really take the time to adjust the dampener to the right setting, they just go out and shoot it and than say 'this thing is just an overpriced Mini/14' .... LOL! Dumb-asses. The 'adjustable' dampener is adjustable for a reason!!!

What more do people want out of a sub $1,000 semi auto?! That is perfectly acceptable to me!!!

No one...finding "liked" guns in Canada is hard enough...more so when they are cheap and even more so when its a RUGER...who is back ordered for over 1,000,000 guns!!!

I have an older mini-14, with a houge stock, and accu-strut system. Shoots great, and never fails to go bang. Non-restricted. What's not to like? The early issues of groups opening on hot barrels is solved by the accu-strut system. They were related to a thin barrel, unsupported for a fair distance, getting "whippy" when heated.

Try setting the harmonic dampener 3/4" from the end of the barrel and work from there for the load. Seems to be the sweet spot for many loads. Also be prepared to get a trigger job. The stock trigger sucks. Do these two things and they shoot very well. I agree with Ardent and Lineofsight. They shoot well. One of the better semi auto accurate rifles around for the price.

Lucked out when I got mine.
Was able to get the normal black one with the wood stock and picked up a black hogue stock for it right away.
Was also able to pick up 6 metal and 6 plastic 5/30 mags.

Love this gun.
Love it better then all my AR's for the simple fact that I can take it anywhere to shoot it and not just the range.

Where did you find your accu-strut? What kind of accuracy are you getting?
