Mini 14s in Paris

I'm still kicking myself for passing up on that mini 14, with 8 mags, for $1000.00 the other week!

God damn, some CGN'er is smiling now.

Ruger mini14 rifles were cheaper and more available that colt ar15 rifles in the 1970s. Colt was making m16 rifles for the military at that time. AR15
rifles were not that easy to get because of this. Ruger also sold the full auto mini14

Your saying a AK is accurate? Your really out to lunch. AK's are know for being the toughest and most reliable gun out there, not known for being accurate. I don't think he was really trying for MOA groups there, He was spraying and praying for his life. So what your point?
Many feel the AR are accurate as illustrated by some of the sniper variants. My point was and you agreed he spayed as many do in a combate situation. That is why the mini can also hold it own because it's tuff, reliable and accurate enough. Not one thing wrong with a mini.

yes I have for quite a few years
no I will never handle one again

opinions vary, mine is set.

I'll shoot my ARs while you guys hunt down suppliers for your magazines, fine with me.
I find this opinion interesting. I've owned or own many of the guns you post about... My 581 mini is one of my favourites.

In my opinion the mini is easy to use, strip, clean and shoot well. It's short and a full pound lighter than the tavor. I find the mini 14 to be a far better gun than the internet says it should be... Mine hunts black tails in the rain, rides in the truck with tools and crap getting banged around. she gets shoved in the closet and hangs out with wet rain gear with a trigger lock on. She never complains and is always ready to work.

Used as intended the mini 14 is a great rifle. It's not a bench queen or a high volume combat rifle.

If the AR-15 wasn't treated so poorly by our government I might feel differently... But a SBR mini would be cool also. :)

But what does that have to do with anything? You posted up a shot up ballistic shield? How does that have to do with AR15 VS Mini 14. The sheild was shot by neither.

If I post up a picture of a G wagon with 40 something bullet holes what does that prove?

Still badass looking in the hands of Hannibal
too bad they are overpriced (like most of guns these days)

I made a deal like that (a few less mags i think, can't remember right now but overall pretty close) a few years ago now. The CGNer i dealt with was great and it was all said and done within an hour or so of me posting the WTS add. I miss that gun. They're sweet little rifles for sure.

It never fails. You mention Mini 14 in a thread and its not long before an over zealous ar15 owner gets butt hurt we aren't praising his choice of rifle instead.

The new 581+ series mini 14's are worth every penny at 1000$ but I wouldn't pay anymore than 700$ for a pre 581 series mini.

The A Team never hits anything!

Thousands of rounds expended, no hits.

I rest my case.

How about; The Mini 14 in the hands of people that are properly trained can be used as suppressive fire without worry of killing the aggressor

The end goal of the "A" Team was to capture not kill.

Except they are not really your average mini 14 they are licensed copies made in France and are select fire. The mini-14 was chosen over an AR15 and the FAMAS due to its low key appearance.

Stop bringing facts in to this discussion!

Anything other than the AR-15 is a pleb tier POS, can't hit a barn from the inside, and can't be operated by anyone that doesn't have a PhD!!!

Joking aside, there's really nothing wrong with the Mini-14, especially in the role it was selected for. You don't need a 1/2 minute tackdriver in a patrol carbine that you likely won't be shooting beyond 50 yards. The garand style safety and paddle magazine release are simple to operate and ambi-friendly. The Mini also has a great reputation for reliability.

Media is reporting 5000 rounds fired. Might be something to the alleged lack of accuracy.
7-hour raid over 100 officers involved, sustained gunfire, an average of 50 rounds per cop.
Sure lack of accuracy... Bad guys have nothing to win with GIGN or RAID elite forces
