Hi guys.. I am new to the "Black" rifle world.. I usually play out past 500 yards...

But I am looking for something fun and cheap to shoot.. My buddy picked up an AR and I was thinking of building one then came across the Mini-30 Tactical.. The "New" 16" barreled version. I think it would be some fun to plink with..

Now does any one know where to get one in the country???

Thanks

For restricted 7.62x39mm goodness you might want to consider the CZ858 tactical 4V. 15.5" barrel, comes with 4 mags and lots of aftermarket goodies. Also, is only 695 bucks versus the 1000+ of the Ruger.

I never a restricted Mini-14 in Canada but probably you can order it. If it has collapsable stock or flas-hider, it might be forbiden to export by the US.
Anyway, FNSports are one if not the only Ruger importer. Contact them and if there's some in Canada, they'll you where. They don't sell to particular.

Good luck.

Kind of doubt you'll ever see a restricted Mini-30 in Canada. No demand.
"...There are far better guns out there..." That too.

Well, if you are willing to risk being disappointed by the accuracy of a Mini-30, why not grab an SKS for $200?

What's wrong with the Mini-14/30? It has been serving LE and correctionnal officers for decades. In the last decade Ruger managed to improve the out-of-box accuracy to a steady 2 MOA.

CZ858 and CSA VZ58 are great rifle for sure. What is unsure to me is if they're more reliable or accurate than the Mini-14.

You know I'm leaning toward american guns. Without considering patriotism, both are rugged, proven effective and highly customizable.

I tried trading my mini-14 for a CZ858 from a guy at work, we loaned each others rifles. I shot his and he shot mine. After each of us shot both rifles, I wanted to trade my mini for his CZ. but he said no way, you can keep your mini-14 with its minute of barn door accuracy. The CZ858 is a very accurate rife considering the cheap surplus ammo I was shooting :(:(:(
