Mini Barrett

Some one made one in 223 once.(looked just like a Barrett) I have seen pictures of it. I think it sold for 10,000 on gun broker once.

Question is can anyone actually afford to shoot a Barrett? Last time I checked a box of .338 Lap Mag was $70, and lord knows how much .50 is. Then again, I'm poor, maybe everyone else can afford that.
 
.50 is about $14/each....I have no idea on Lap cost, but if it's $70 then that's not terible, my friends 7mm Weatherby is about $80. But this is about dreams not cost.

Good point. In that case I dream the gun registry would blow its own brains out. (preferably with a .25 fully automatic short barreled folding stock 100 round drum magazine machine pistol.)

Clearly some can and some can't - I probably couldn't. My point is that we're not talking about shooting a Barrett -- we're talking about shooting something else that has been dolled up to look like a Barrett. If that's what someone wants to do, all power to them. I just don't see the point myself.

I wasn't accusing anyone of not being able to afford to shoot a Barrett, or judging them on it (I myself don't even have enough money to shoot anything other than .22 :( ) I was just asking as a question, cause I actually didn't know if some people could afford to shoot it (which was a dumb question). I guess If someone really wanted to shoot one they could just head down to one of those vegas ranges.
However on the subject of a smaller calibre Barrett... cool idea. I just hope they don't think its a good idea to make that smaller calibre a propriety cartridge that ends up costing a ridiculous amount. (I'm thinking .408 Cheytac would be a horrible idea)
 
I got an idea on the mini Barrett! You buy one of those airsoft guns that look like a barrett remove all of the internals, keep the chassis, remove most parts of it and replace then with metal( like where the action sits) and they some how get a Remington 7600 to drop in with a heavy barrel and there you have it a identical " mini" Barrett! I know Alot of work with the chassis but for the guy with Alot of time on his hands

Neat idea.
Pretty sure you can also do that with a 10/22 and an airsoft P90.
