mini14 mini30 20 round mag

hi I would like to get my hand on a ruger mini 30 or 14 and I want to know if i can legally acquire some 20 or 30 round mags pinned to 5 round

I bought both my polymer and my metal 5/30 mags for my mini-14 at zefarm.net. It appears that he still has some polymer 5/30 mags left for $65 each.

zefarm doesn't have any on their site except a factory 5rd and mastar is out of stock, do you have any other places i could have a look.
also if i take a mini 14 mag and replace the follower by a mini30 one does it work? if i replace a 20 rd mini14 mag follower by a 5rd mini30 mag follower do i get a 5 rd .223 and a 20 rd 7.62 mag?

The 5/30 mags they have are for Mini-14's. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be possible to run Mini-14 mags in a Mini-30. In fact the Mini-14 mags I have are thinner in profile than any AR-15 mags I have. Since it runs 7.62x39 ammo, a 5/30 Mini-30 mag would be wider, as it would be have the ammo loaded in two stacks.

Questar usually has pinned 5/20 or 5/30 rounders for the Mini 14 on their site. It might be worth the effort to email Mark and ask if he has any more coming in for either rifle.

Questar and Marstar don't have any. I managed to get one 5/20rd. from Questar at the end of the year. Zefarm has polymer 5/30's listed but his email is bouncing back right now.

Why are these mags so hard to find in this country!! Lots of us have mini-14's, is everyone happy with the factory 5rd or what??

I have tried mini 14 5/30's in a mini 30. They just don't work. Ruger is making factory mags for both now.
