I was reading about firearms, and how gunsmiths joining a guild are still, (usually in Europe) required to show a "masterpeice". That masterpeice, is exactly what it sounds like, a master....peice. (to prove mastery)

To highlight their skill they often present a miniature scale firearm, that is fully functional.

Some gunsmiths then take on this speciallized trade in off hours, or even gain enough repute to do it full time for wealthy clients.

It's pretty neat.

Seems almost like watchmaking, certainly far beyond my humble abilities. The first photo must be a scan of a conventional photo; bolt is reversed. They certainly would be a challenge.

That is sure is great eh, There is a guy in Quebec who makes those tiny big $ guns, I always like the liliput cartridge size guns as well.

Fantastic in a world of faster cheaper plastic Tupperware it's wonderful to see real craftsmanship . I'm a dental tech. I cast and make gold crowns and porcelain fused to metal crown & bridge always a new cad cam milling machine trying to replace me so far they can't quite do it thank goodness.Glad to see in the firearm community that people are willing to pay for something handmade.

It is amazing that someone has the awesome skill required to make the pieces of art.

I wonder what they are legally if they can be fired. Is an operational 1/3 scale handgun (and ammo) prohibited because of barrel length?

They had those little tiny revolvers made in Switzerland (I think they were 3mm or something) that fired as a traditional gun. However, the muzzle velocity was under 495fps, so all they are are $10k airguns.
