Screw it, I'm buying a bolt action cooey to make a 'survival 22' out of. Well, I want to try making a stock, we'll see where that goes.
 
Definitely a bolt repeater. Too risky with a single shot if a situation arose and the semis can fail at the most inopportune time. Bolts seem to last forever without faults.My Marlin is almost 70 years old and still operates great and is accurate within its range.

I agree and any snobs out there who look down upon it; well it's a Winchester Cooey actually.
I've heard enough old timers talk about shooting deer up close with Cooey's to not give it some respect.
Growing up in rural Alberta I thought everyone had a Cooey in the gun rack or on the seat. Spare parts... heck my Dad still has spare rifles in a Cooey. I've had them given to me for driving Tractor for a couple afternoons.

That is seriously cool Cyclone. I have a couple of questions /comments for you concerning your custom stock:

1) What's the overall length and weight of the stock and rifle?
2) What's the stock made of, wood?
3) I really like how the sling attaches to the back of the stock, very distinct old-school military look: How did you make that part?
4) I really like the top handguard! How do you make it hold to the bottom part of the stock: Screws, bolts, etc?
5) How are the receiver/barrel being hold in place?
6) The rifle can't really be dismantled into pieces anymore, can it? Not that it really matter since it looks so smart it could fit in a backpack.
7) For the love of God man, give us a tutorial on how to make one already!! Don't make us beg...Maybe an outline of the shape of the stock and some pics of the inletting would be awesome! But definetly make a tutorial!

Again, great work. I'm seriously impressed.

I wish I made/had that.....:yingyang:.....one of my fellow AR-7's fanatics showed me the pic, and I just wanted to share it with you guys here.....:cheers:
 
Dang it!

Oh well, still looks amazing. Truly ingenius...I like the "back to the old ways" stock look, the wood wraps around the barrel to protect it, only this time around it's because it's made of plastic polymer instead of soft-steel.

Now, if only I could find an ar-7 without the stock hehe.
