Minimum chamber walls thickness to safely handle .22lr round?

Im working on a custom home made .22lr zip gun project and was wondering if anyone knew exactly how much steel i would need around the .22lr case to make sure it doesnt burst? I know that it will depend on the quality of steel, but lets say i used averege, typical, non stainless gun barrel steel.
Thanks!

Fixed it for ya....

Talk about putting words in someones mouth, he may be building an ultralight backpacker.

667,
Are you an Ontario Liberal? Changing someones words to suit their ideas, seems to be their method of operation. :slap:

Hi

My point is that with all the mystery we could be working on something very rational, or we could be assisting in something not so rational.

I have no particular problem with experimentation. I just like to know what I'm experimenting on....

Didnt check this thread in a while since i got the answer i was looking for..

The project im working on is nothing special.. Basically a single shot, ultra-portable, foldable rifle. I always wanted to make my own firearm but didnt have the means to do it untill now. I now have access to a fully equipped machine shop, and im designing my own action/trigger that im going to machine myself. Again, nothing intresting.. just something to satisfy my curiosity and kill time.

On a side note, Deckad seems to post the "troll patrol is watching" picture in every thread i saw him post in.. Why would someone bring up a 2 week old thread just to post it? Way to make use of the forum bandwidth... Makes me wonder how many of his 6800+ posts actually helped someone..

Hi

Ok, that makes sense.

If the application is backpacking, I would recommend working the design so it protects the barrel when folded.
