Mint Unissued Polish M44

I've seen people asking crazy prices on the EE recently.

What are they actually worth?

Cheers

I'm not complaining about the prices on the EE . Just curious if it is worth selling the one I've got.

If they worth $700 , yours would of sold by now...

You are not complaining?
Get a job make some money and then you can buy stuff.

I ask the price for what it is worth, and I sold the last one in this condition for $650 a while ago.
Not interested to entertain a penniless crowd, the rifle is stored safely in my safe and doesn't cost me anything.
I received offers all over the place from $350 (that's right 350 was the price 5 years ago, the poor bugger missed the boat) to $650, my price however is $700 for a pristine Polish rifle, not Ruski Junk.

Old guys are constantly telling me about the "barrels full of them old Lee Enfields" at (insert location here) for $5, $10, etc..

I scooped a really nice Polish 44 w/o a bayonet for $150 this summer. My gunner partner laid claim. I have unissued Polish, Romanian, and Hungarian 44s.

The supply of unissued M44's will eventually dry up.

I'm an old guy, so here's my story. At one time, Marstar sold Russian mismatched M44 rifles for $35.95 + .05 for a second one. Even today, that's probably too much for some guys on here. :p

I even have one that is "Nazi marked". Probably Hitler's personal rifle, eh? :)

Milsurps sell for what ppl want to pay. Now i have no need to pay big bucks for an unissued polish M44 because i bought one manys years ago for $114.95,unissued with the sling and oiler, still in the grease and still in my safe and will stay there as i have a beat up russian to fire. Life is good;)

I think people simply read $700 and flipped out.
I said $500-$700 as a general range. $700 was the ceiling number. I've seen them list and sell for $535, $600, $575, $500, $650...and at $650 without shipping and/or insurance then you're on $700's doorstep. And we're talking for a MINT unissued/unfired. Remember, ceiling number...

In 5-10 years, these and other Mosin carbines are going to jump even further in value, when all we have are cool old milsurp bolt guns. Grim premonition, but not unrealistic.

Flipped out because that is a grossly inflated price. If you want a real world indicator then look it up in a credited reference book on gun values.

I can't see them going higher in price because years from now they will still be a 3-4MOA rifle at very best that is less than spectacular.

Ones personal distain or non interest in a rifle will surely affect their perception of value. That true with anything.
As mentioned, the price may seem high but if someone wants it, they'll buy it...and they do. If you can get a nice unfired or unissued Polish M44 right now here for under $500 you're getting a deal.

Laugh2...stop it, it hurts...Mosin's jump even further!? Funny. Now if you're talking about a mummied Lee Enfield, you'd be talking about a rifle worth investing in, A Mosin Negant...Neit!

Accuracy has nothing to do with value. A mint matching k98 sells for $2000 and they rarely do better than 3moa.

In Europe they sale for more then $800. Polish disposal agency releases 500 a year for internal market and they seem to sell within days after they hit gun stores. Average price is $700 to $900 Canadian

I wouldn't go even $400 on one that has been fired and gone through several owners and an auction. Maybe $550 is it's still in the grease. Maybe.

It's an M44. Polish ones are not particularly hard to find. The appeal of them is when they are new in box, with unblemished finishes and wood. With use and wear they are worth no more than Russian refurbs IMO.

I don't crack my wallet wide for anything without an [SA] stamp

Otherwise I have 2 M44's, and that's all that I want or need

In Canada $500 for one still in grease is a fair price. They usually bring more in Ontario because of large Polish population. I originally bought 8 in the 90s when they were imported. Sold most of them over past 4 years and I can tell one think. Each year they are worth at least $100 more
