Im thinking of selling off some of my Finnish and other Russian MN that are kicking around my M39 is a post war rebuild prolly done in the 1960's mint bore, mint wood shoots dead on ..I have a couple Finnish capture M91's as well in real nice condition ..plus a few other odds and sods .

M39 $300-500 depending on who wants it. Folks are having a hard time selling finn 91's for more than $200. Not a good time to sell unless you have something special.

M39 are the cream of the Mosin so could be in the $400-$550 for a very clean one.

i just checked collectors soarce(sp) they have one not as nice as mine for 895.00 thats a bit steep .I was thinking in the 5-600.00 range .I still have to dig these beasts out they havent seen daylight in a few years..lol

I agree with desporterizer. I've seen straight stocked SAKO M39s priced at $450 and run of the mill M39s priced higher. All depends on condition and rarity. And whether buyers/sellers do their research.

Not all M39s were created equal.

I paid $375 for a near mint 1944 SAKO at the Woodstock gun show at the start of the year. I was happy to get it. It does have a small amount of corrosion in the grooves near the muzzle.

I am looking for a mint one with a perfect barrel if I can get it.

Jim.

STRAIGHT-STOCKED Sakos priced LOWER than run-of-the-mill M-39s?!!
Boy, these ones are the rarest of the M-39s! only 8200 have been issued and many of them got restocked with conventional stocks once re-arsenaled.
They are few and far between now.
Nevertheless, I'd love to find a really good pistol grip M-39 to complement my 1941 straight-stocked one... at a reasonable price... :)

I'm curious to see your mosins...

A rare one: 1927 stepped-barrel Tikka M-91

There out there if you look for them and act quickly when they come up. I bought my '41 straight stocked SAKO 4- 5 years ago from Epps for $375. Its not in pristine condition for sure but its not refurbed either. I'd say straight off the battlefield. And that's the way I like it.

And that's my point - big difference between a M39 restocked post war and a wartime original. I had a seller at a local gun show try to sell me a M39 in a sanded stock - it was described by the seller as being 'mint' and he wanted $600 for it. Gave me a good chuckle. He even gave me his business card in case I changed my mind.

There's a M28 on the EE right now. Its been there since August and the price has come down by $50.

I took a look back in the EE for M39s for sale and found two: a '41 SAKO listed back in August for $500 initially then dropped to $450. No description of whether it was straight stocked or not. And a pistol gripped M39 that sold at the start of November for $450 after being listed in late September.

Its like the X-Files...

I'm the buyer...

And I do not regret it... Its a gorgeous riffle, VG bore and all hardware is like new, nothing is stripped... Bluing is about 90 %...
Still need to shoot it :p to see what this thing can do

A nice adition to my matched # VKT D-Barrel M91...

Nice M39 Ben, I'd expect it to shoot very well. I wouldn't mind a pistol gripped M39 myself for reenacter shoots (the kind where you have to fire and move) as I'm not going to treat my '41 SAKO roughly.

Plus I would like to make a replica M39 SOV.

PerversPépère - your P-27, can you tell us more about it being 'in the white'?

Did it come that way from the factory or is the bluing worn off? Is that common, documented?

I've never seen/heard about a barrel in the white on an issue rifle but maybe that's just me. I'm not that familiar with the P-26s or P-27s. Thanks.

It was pretty common to see an "in the white" P-27; they were manufactured in a time of great haste and the blued finish was just another step in the manufacturing that wasn't considered essential to get a fighting rifle to the troops. Besides, that steel isn't very rust-prone, because of the alloy I guess.
