Anyone here try out the 3" mirage shotshells on waterfowl? I had three ducks drop feathers and down at about 20 -25 yards and then keep on flying for the international border. Pissed me off cause they were good sized greenheads.

Pattern you gun. How dense and even is the pattern on paper? Are you using the correct choke for the shot size/distance? Did you use an appropriate size pellet? Did you lead the birds enough? Did you estimate range correctly?
Please excuse my skepticism, but If the above questions were taken into account can't imagine any shell not working at 20-25 yards, no matter how cheaply made.

What size shot were you using? @20 to 25 meters, #4 shot would give you a denser pattern & assure you of more hits. I think lots of guys make the mistake of going heavy with the shot size & only hit the birds with a couple pellets, hence the lost cripples...

when shooting ducksa at close range .i drop down shot size to # 6s .and try to picture the ducks head as a dove or other small bird .this works very well on close range hunting it only tkes one pellet in the head to bring them down .and a few will break the wings pretty quik DUTCH
