Miroku O/U safe for steel?

I recently picked up a 12 gauge O/U imported by Charles Daly, manufactured by Miroku Japan. There is no model number to be found anywhere on the gun. I ran the serial number online and i believe the gun to be made in the mid seventies. Is there any way to confirm whether or not this gun is safe to use with steel shot? My father has been shooting steel out of his Mossberg 500 from the same time frame for years with no problems, but this Miroku is a fine shotgun and I would like to be sure.
 
Full and IMP MOD are very tight. I would not shoot any steel in that gun. I have a Miruko built Browning Citori choked MOD and IMP CYL, Browning advised no steel shot larger than #2 in these more open chokes. You could have the chokes opened but I would still think you would be limited to 2 3/4" loads of #2 steel or smaller.

Don't forget the other no tox loads like Kent Impact and Bismuth. For an occasional duck shoot over a slough it would be a nice treat use that gun. The cost for 50 or so rounds isn't too bad to enjoy the gun every now and then.

I have one more question for you Darryl. when you say it is not advisable to shoot larger than #2 steel shot, does this mean i could shoot the light #8 target loads? Thanks again.
