Hello all, just purchased a Low Wall Miroku Winchester 1885 in .17 WSM. Initial cleaning instructions in the manual are typically vague, but a separate instruction sheet in the box stated...
" For the first 5 shots, clean after each shot. For the next 15 shots, clean the barrel after each 3 shot group. Cleaning the barrel as stated above means running a solvent soaked patch through the barrel, then saturate a brush with solvent and make 5 passes through the barrel. Run wet solvent patches again through the barrel until they come clean. Next run dry patches through the barrel until the chamber and the barrel are completely dry. One pass equals through and back with brush."

My questions are, can I use an Otis .17 pull thru with a patch ? The Otis .17 coated cable does not connect a brush, only a fixed slot with a patch, and... should I purchase a rod (I don't have a .17 rod)
Is Tipton the best .17 Cleaning rod available ?
